There are 28 kilometers in between Malaga Airport and Mijas. Mijas is a small but pictoresc mountain village on the Costa del Sol.

From Mijas Pueblo you have an extraordinary view over the Costa del Sol, Fuengirola and Mijas Costa. The municipality of Mijas counts several famous Golf Courses such as Mijas Golf International, La Cala golf resort. La Noria Golf, Calanova Golf, Chaparral Golf, Miraflores Golf club and Santana Golf club. In other words, a golfers paradise!

Mijas Pueblo

Mijas, with 149 km², is one of Malagas largest municipalities and includes Mijas Pueblo, Las Lagunas and Mijas Costa.

Mijas pueblo is located at 428m above sea level which guarantees spectacular sea views.

A stroll through the whitewashed streets with their nooks and crannies, the patios, hermitages... the village conserves the tranquility and enchantment of the past sheltered by the mountain range and looking out towards the countryside and the sea.

Museums, theatre, music and entertainment centers, monuments, gastronomy and festivities and traditions in which you can share the Mijas way of life.

The race course is thanks to the generous climate of Mijas, when other race courses have to close down due to winter, stables from all europe bring their horses to gallop on the track of the "hipodromo de Mijas"

Mijas Events

Every year in June the event Festival Internacional de los Pueblos en Mijas will take place. This is a 3 days during event full of dance, music and food.

In July the Festival Internatacional de Blues will take place in Mijas Pueblo.

In the first week of September the yearly fair of Mijas is celebrated in honor of the Virgen de la Peña.
